Hey beautiful souls.. It’s me again…
Packing my bags and moving across the country was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I feel like sometimes we forget how big the world is and how beautiful life can be. For a while, I felt stuck in a place that no longer brought me joy, and I felt like I was losing sight of who I am. So, I did what felt right in my soul…and hit the road.
The journey from Michigan to Washington state was one I’ll never forget. It wasn’t just about the places I passed through or the miles I drove. It was about reclaiming myself, rediscovering the world beyond the comfort of what I knew. And, omgg, did this trip challenge me, surprise me, and open my eyes to what’s out there.
The Road Ahead
Leaving Michigan was the easy part. The hours on the road stretched ahead of me, and the excitement of starting fresh carried me through the long stretches of highway. But as much as I looked forward to the adventure, there were moments that made me question everything.
Driving through New Mexico was one of those moments. I had my first real encounter with anxiety on the trip there. After hours of driving, I checked into a small, sketchy hotel, something was just… off. My anxiety was high. I remember pushing the chair up against the door, just in case. It might sound dramatic(I can be dramatic) but when you’re out there in unfamiliar places the mind can play some wild tricks.I made it through, and that’s what mattered. Even in the face of discomfort, I knew I was still moving forward.
Arizona – A Desert Adventure

The next day, I was back in Arizona, cruising through familiar desert landscapes (I’ve been here before, but it always feels new). One of the highlights of the trip was stopping by the Petrified Forest. There’s something downright surreal about standing next to trees that have been fossilized for millions of years. It’s like stepping into another era.
The desert has this way of putting everything into perspective. It’s not just a barren landscape; it’s a living reminder that life keeps moving forward. It got me thinking about my own journey how I’m carving my own path and finding my place in the world.
San Diego – A Welcome Breeze

As soon as I hit San Diego, my mood lifted. There’s something about the ocean that always makes everything feel a little more right. The salty air, the sound of waves crashing against the shore it was exactly what I needed after days of driving through the desert and dusty highways. I spent a little time soaking up the sunshine, enjoying the moment of calm, and letting myself breathe a little deeper.
But, of course, every trip has its issues. The next stop? Los Angeles.
LA – The City of Dreams… Or Not?

Alright, confession time. I’ve heard all the hype about LA—“the city of dreams,” where everyone’s chasing the glittery, shiny version of themselves. But honestly? I’m not sure it’s my thing. The traffic alone made me question every life decision I’ve ever made. Like, who needs a reality show when you’ve got 3 hours of bumper-to-bumper traffic as the plot? Then there’s the whole vibe of being in a city where everyone is too busy looking at themselves in store windows to even notice the actual scenery. It’s like everyone’s competing for an award for “Most Likely to Be Seen in a Café You’ve Never Heard Of.”
Don’t get me wrong, LA’s got its charm, but it’s not the glamorized movie set I imagined. It’s a bit more *hustle* and a lot less *Hollywood dream sequence*. You can practically feel the pressure to fit in with the latest trend,It’s like an unspoken rule if you’re not seen, do you even exist?
I left LA with mixed feelings (and a serious need for a nap). But, you know,, Oregon was up next, and that’s when I really started feeling like I was getting closer to where I truly belonged.
Oregon – Nature’s Embrace
Driving through Oregon was like being wrapped in a blanket of green. The lush forests, the towering trees, and the endless stretches of coastline felt like an entirely different world. There’s something incredibly grounding about nature, and Oregon had that in abundance. I spent hours driving through scenic routes, with my windows down, breathing in the fresh air, and listening to the calming sound of the wind rustling through the trees. It was peaceful. It was everything I needed after the chaos of city life.
Washington – A New Beginning

Finally, I made it to Washington and let me tell you, this place is magic(time feels different). The mountains, the ocean, the forests it all felt like home. This journey isn’t just about miles covered; it’s about discovering parts of myself I don’t know. It’s about pushing through fear, embracing the unknown, and finding comfort in places I never expected.
As I settled in, I realized sometimes, you have to leave behind what’s holding you back to find where you’re truly meant to be. And maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t running away I was finding myself.
Life’s a journey, and each mile is a reminder of how much there is still to discover. So here’s to new beginnings, overcoming fears, and the roads that lead us to exactly where we’re supposed to be.
Where am I headed next? Keep an eye out for a new post every Wednesday!
Until then, beautiful souls keep exploring, keep growing, and keep being your self..
With love,
Aurora ❤︎︎
